WERR Cross Country Season 2019 - 2020
WERR breaking new ground this year by doing the early season xc relays and trying to get as many sign ups as possible.
(see form below)
Relay teams of 4 peeps and each leg is 4km / 2.5 miles so less than a parkrun! Saturday 26th Oct is the biggie - national relays held in Cumbernauld.
If there is appetite for a warm up event then Dunbartonshire AAA will be hosting relays in Balloch Park on Saturday 19th for local clubs. These will take place in early afternoon.
WERR training sessions will be organised too beforehand to break everyone in.
Boring admin bit - in order to take part everyone needs to sign up individually as a member of Scottish Athletics.
Annual fees for a senior club member are £21 - membership then gets you discount on all SA affiliated races throughout the year so some or most of this can be clawed back.
Sign up is pretty straightforward through the SA website on this link.
WERR will pay individual race fees for those representing the club in National comps.
Hopefully all the 18/19 WERRwolves (a vintage crop btw photos on this link) shall return in numbers but we are also looking to go big this year! From the young team to the old masters. Newbies to long standing members. Super speed is not a requirement. Having fun and enjoying the experience is what it’s all about.
