WERR Winter Seminar - Personal Safety and Confidence for Runners
Running with confidence! If you’ve ever felt uncomfortable running on your own or have encountered situations where you’ve felt threatened or anxious, this WERR Winter Seminar with the Scottish Centre for Personal Safety, a charitable trust, is for you!
It’s a fun afternoon on Sunday February 25th from 1 to 5pm at Jordanhill Parish Church, Woodend Avenue. You’ll build confidence and knowledge. You’ll learn about the law regarding self-defence, voice control, de-escalation and self-defence techniques designed to be effective for anyone. You’ll get the chance to practice what you learn.
At the end there will be a 30 minute female specific session, where you will learn self-defence techniques against sexual assault and rape. Female attendees are also free to leave at this point should they wish or if they’d rather not actively participate, there is the option to simply stay and observe.
If you came along last year, use this as a refresher. If you’re newer to the club or have family or friends who you think might benefit, bring them along. At the end there will be a 30 minute female-specific session. We’ve got limited space so first come first serve served.
The cost is £10 per person with all proceeds (after paying for the hall) going to The Scottish Centre for Personal Safety to fund their other charitable work. Please buy your ticket on this link or on the button below.
