Runs & Schedule
All runs are now on our TeamApp.
Now to the important stuff, what about the running! Hopefully you will have joined us on a few runs already but just to recap..
Runs - Runs leave from Woodend Tennis & Bowling Club at the following times each week.
Monday : 12:30 & 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday : 7:00 p.m. Coached speedwork & stamina reps, drills or games.
Friday : 12:30 & 6:00 p.m.
Sunday : 10:30 a.m.Longer, slower, social run.
Please sign up on TeamApp for any runs you intend to do so we know who will be running and. Also please cancel if you cannot make it. Thank you.
Schedule - The weekly schedule can be found here and will note a brief one-liner of the run and a link to the route.
We are going to be updating the information contained in the schedule over time but in the meantime please be assured there will always be cut offs and there will always be different speed groups so if a run sounds longer or faster than you fancy there will be options!
Routes - Routes are stored in the WERR map-o-meter account on this link, login with the group email [email protected] with password werr16. All members are encouraged to add to our bank of runs, if you have a favourite route please add it.
Races - See the Race Calendar on TeamApp for more information.
Some members of the club enjoy taking part in races. We will typically pick a couple of races a year to be club social races, some of the schedule may be geared towards building up to the race and there will be social time, for example, a pub lunch afterwards. These will be shared in advance via the mechanisms below. If racing isn’t your thing but you’d like to be involved then a cheering squad is always greatly appreciated!
Parkrun - Many WERRs support local parkruns, both as runners and as much needed volunteers. The closest parkrun is Victoria, details here, with Ruchill, Drumchapel and Elder also well supported. Volunteering is easy and a fun way to give back to the running community, ask any member for more information.

Social
We are a very sociable club and think the social aspect is as important as the running!
We have three organised social events each year. These cost £10 - £15 to cover food, games/prizes and a contribution to club funds.
Birthday Party- Early May is WERR’s birthday and naturally an excuse for a party! Held at Woodend, it’s a fun-filled evening of games and mayhem.
End of Summer BBQ- Typically around September time, this is a more casual evening to allow everyone time to catch up and chat over a burger.
Christmas Night Out - The jewel in the social calendar, it’s time to get your dancing shoes and glad rags on! Usually held in early December this may be at Woodend or elsewhere dependent on numbers but either way it’s guaranteed to be a great night.
In addition, as mentioned above, some runs will be targeted as club social runs, usually with an agreement to meet for a drink or lunch afterwards.
Turkey Run - Work off those Christmas excesses with a relaxed run through Mugdock a few days after Christmas. A very social run with friends and family, of the two or four legged variety, more than welcome.

These discussions will be kept confidential unless action is required, for example, if a member has behaved in a manner counter to our Code of Conduct. In that case this will be discussed with you in advance.
The Welfare Officer has a dedicated email address which only they can access, [email protected]
