WERR Google Group

What is the google group that WERR uses?
This is an email based group a bit like a group chat on WhatsApp or Messenger. The email address is [email protected] and all messages sent to this address go to all of the group, currently 110 +.
Unlike WhatsApp and Messenger this group is actually a web forum which has its own webpage where all of the messages are kept and can be viewed and replied to https://groups.google.com/d/forum/westendroadrunners (If this doesn't open see below)
Do I have to have all of the emails delivered as they are sent?
No you don't. There are four options available to all members.
In order to choose these options you have to access the group page here but you will need a google account (see below if you do not have one or can't access the above link - if your email address ends in gmail.com or googlemail.com you will be fine).
​The link above opens as in the images to the right. Click on the "my settings" icon top right. Options are
  1. ​Don't send email updates (see below)*
  2. Send daily summaries
  3. Send combined updates (25 messages per email)
  4. Notify me for every new message (about 7 per day)
 *Don't send email updates. This option means that in order to see what is going on you will have to access the group's webpage here on this link. see top image to the right
​Here you can read all the threads and reply to whichever you like. You can also reply to any member individually. All without your inbox being used at all! 
You can easily bookmark the page on a pc or save to home screen on a smartphone.
When I click on this link https://groups.google.com/d/forum/westendroadrunners I cannot see the group's page. Why not?
In order to access the group page to have to
  1. have a google account 
  2. be signed in
  3. have the email address you use for the group linked to your google account. 
I don't have a google account how do I get one and keep the email address I have?
Go to google.com and sign up for an account. When asked which email address you would like choose I have an address and follow the instructions. Or create a new gmail address and link your werr email address to it - see below.
I have a google account but still can't see the page. Why?
Probably because your group email address is not linked to your google account.
​Go to your account settings and under accounts make sure the email address you use for the group is there. If not add it.
I have done all of this but still can't see the page. Why?
This can happen for whatever reason as the groups have a mind of their own and recently the settings have been updated.
Let me know by emailing [email protected] and I'll remove you from the group and then add you again.
Yes that old technically brilliant technique of turning it off and on again! But it seems to work :-)
